Tasks/Skills: Front and Back Cover Redesign / Illustrator, Composition
For this project, I was asked to do a complete redesign for ‘Expecting… A Pregnancy Journal for Mom’.
The client, Wendy had some ideas she wanted to include into the cover, some being:
- Visually noticeable that it’s a journal, you can write in.
- A silhouette of a pregnant woman
- Cover to be laid out in a way it can be modular for other family member books.
- Creative freedom for color.
My initial ideas which led to the final product revolving around designing the cover similar to a composition notebook. The spine would be a different color to represent that “book-tape” look that some other journals have where it spreads to both the front and back covers.
